DTWXs Tolbain Character by SEspider DTWXs Tolbain Character by SEspider
Earlier this year I asked for a few drawing ideas to help me practice getting my drawing skills back.

:icondtwx: was one of the few to actually respond.
He requested a drawing of his young werewolf character named Tolbain ([link]).

I love the idea of kids being...well KIDS! The innocents and freedom of not having to worry about anything other then homework. That may be because I was once one of those kids until I had to grow up (bills, politics, duties, cleanliness, etc.). I love The Jungle Book, Peter Pan, Stand By Me, & Robby type of books, movies, etc. Unless Disney is in charge of it. They always screw it up.

Anywho, It's a reason why many of my characters/drawings are of kids just being kids. And Tolbain is one such character. From what I understand, he's a cross between Mowgli, & Peter Pan with a Werewolf story thrown in for good measure. ;)

When I finally got the chance to draw him, I had one heck of a difficult time coming up with ideas for drawing him. First I was doing a combination of him in both forms (Human and Werewolf) but nothing I did looked good at all. Hinze the need for practice I mentioned earlier.
I eventually decided to at him as if he was one of my character's (SKIN) spirit. Doing so kept Tolbain grounded in the Childhood innocents he already has. The next struggle was also a biggie. Posing Him!
Tolbain lives in the wold (Mowgli style) and has no need for clothing. But I didn't want to just throw in a leaf between his legs. That's extremely tacky and gives it a form of censorship. Thus giving it the illusion of child porn. WHICH IT'S NOT!!
So what I did was imagine myself as him in a tree trying to find a place to sit. So ended up with the above. To counter the leaf issue I positioned his knees in front and kept his bottom out of a resting place to give him a sense of movement. The flying squirrel was a last minute addition.
Is it Tolbain's future lunch? lol

I finished this a while ago but then my scanner wouldn't work. DOH! I FINALLY got it to work long enough for a scan of this.

Feel free to ink and color this if you wish.Lots of the tree is missing, but feel free to finish it up.

Don't know.
Drawing comics for a website at the moment and trying to get other stuff compteted. There's a SKIN image I ned to finish before doing another Tolbain image. But he's always in the back of my mind. Finding non-sex focused characters like him is rare.

Ah, don't worry, there'll be MOAR comics indue time. 8-)

Oh, and I'm also on the 30th page of the 4th chapter, "Timothy's Story" where it shows the other half of the original "Tolbain" comic, whereas I re-drawn all of the original Werewolf elements, and I've got to say the Transformation scenes are really Bad Ass & funny as hell, too. :D

lol

Don't mean with kids being naked. Just being kiflat out kids having fun. Most kids today have to grow up so fast they never get the chance to enjoy their time as kids. I love video games, but they need to spend more time outside playing and less time on the couch. Why are parents forcing their kids to get summer jobs or take extra classes during their breaks?

LET THEM HAVE FUN!!
Basically let them be the free spirits while they can.

BTW, Thanks ;)

You...

Little...

Savage...

...

INGENIOUS BASTERD!!! IT'S GREAT!!!!

But please don't go Spartan 117 on my arse if I complain that he has Hobbit's Feet or looks a bit like a pre-Teen than an 8 year ol-
*gets shot in the face by a Brute* ;p

Anyways, I really admire what you said in the description there & the innocence in it.
It is more repulsive & defamatory to use 'Censorship' to hide a part of the body that it is to show it cuz it's more suggestive n' stuff. ;)
I actually based Timothy on the characteristics of 'Calvin & Hobbes' which is my favorite newspaper comic, hence his hairstyle. 8-)
Ironically, the Peter Pan/Tom Sawyer notion is not used much for my Home Comic, but will be widely used in my "Smallville Chronicles" project, another childlike adventure story that you'll sure to enjoy. :D

The squirrel is a nice touch & a plausible throwback to the gecko on SKIN's toe in my sketch that I did on him for you. :D
Not too sure if he'll eat it though, since it's high in cholesterol & makes a small meal, but the Zombies sure would. :zombie: :hungry: ;p

Speaking of coloring n' stuff, I would'nt mind if anyone did it all, but my stencil skills are usually marred by my crappy scanner, too. :X
I could probably use it as a Widescreen wallpaper shot on MS Paint, if it doesn't take too long, that is. ^^;

Now if you'll excuse me, I will now go fave this while I get ready for the Freddy remake. :D

P.S. Slight, slight request; use this [link] as a search alternative in der description, so that it's good n' grin. :D

Sorry. I completely forgot he's an 8 year old. lol

Had a feeling someone would point out his foot as too big. It's not tough. It's a pospective thing. His right foot is stretched down where only the heel is touching the branch. Also his feet is a little closer to the camer/viewer then his torso. So in comparison it gives the illusion that the feet are too large when not.

Hope that makes sence.
Updated the link for ya. ;)

Sooooooo....Do you like it?
