Okay, get this.
For 2 nights (3rd shift) a week I've been getting paid to help clean parking lots. Not hard at all. I usually just use a blower and blow the trash where the Sweeper truck (driven by the founder of the company, Linwood) can pick it up as he drives by. Sure, sometimes there are nasty stuff here and there. People are insanely nasty and even lazier. Nothing that can't easily be handled.

Anywho, the boss-man learns things about some workers and has to fire them. At the same time, companies are trying to put him out of business by cheating and lying. This forces him to cut back hours and fire even more people. It's now REALLY bad for him. My two nights are cut to one but I don't mind. I'm doing mostly to help take pressure off of him. Otherwise he'll (in his 60s) will be doing a LOT of hard work on his own.

Well, one of his workers (Tim) has a family emergency Monday so Linwood has to do his work for him. With only an hour of sleep, he learns that Tim will not be in for a long time. His mother passed. Someone Linwood knew well. So now Linwood has two work day and night with little sleep. I offer to help him for free and he takes me up on the offer. Only later to refuse to NOT pay me for my time. But seriously, I would work for him for free. he needs the help, money, and is too great a human being not to deserve it.
We worked lastnight (night I was not suppose to work anymore). All goes well, saw a large buck walking the city streets (SUPER RARE here), then 3 more dears on the way to another city for work.

We're at our last BIG stop (Walmart) and leaving.Linwood sees something almost out of view in the dark rain. It's a large, flat, box with a broken mini stool laying partly on it. Frustrated that someone went and left, yet another, large mess on the ground, Linwood speeds to it and almost yells to me to through it in the nearby trashcan (a whole 20 feet away!).

I go to the box in frustration as well. It's now pouring down rain and the box will surely break apart in my hands. I open it (as I always do) to insure there's nothing sharp in it to hurt me. Of course there is. It's a broken blue coffee mug. I throw the top back the moment I see it and prepare to squat and pick up the glass. That's when I then see a flat metal box.

It's a Freak'n Dell Laptop! still in it's original box! There's unopened software! A Manuel! The machine's battery! And two unbroken coffee mugs! JACKBOT!! Linwood quickly helped me recover the treasures. We then learn the laptop's log is popped off and the screen badly damaged.

Today I learn it was a show module that a company damaged so they could write it off. But It Still Works! Needs a new screen and a couple cosmetic fixes. It's got a 120 gig drives, some of the best video connections I've seen and more! It may be a 2005 model, but WHO CARES!! Linwood (knowing it's value if fixed) lets me keep it. It's now in the shop being checked out. Says for me to consider it my payment for future nights of helping him for free. I agree. ^_^
